About Us
The UPME App is created for educational purpose, as a service to the society and to support Saccnkalp: Sampurnana Swasthya (SSS), an innovative, community-based, healthcare program of Indian Academymof Pediatrics (IAP) envisaged under the IAP Presidential Action Plan 2023, by Dr.Upendra S. Kinjawadekar, IAP President 2023.. The aims of SSS include enhancement of the physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of learners through inculcation of the principles of healthy lifestyle in students beginning from an early age, with high focus on primary prevention and early detection of Non Communicable Diseases. The goals of SSS include- to build tools to enable children and parents to easily execute on a sustainable basis, their main learnings from the program. UPME App is one of the unique, futuristic and path-breaking web-based applications created under SSS in order to reinforce and provide follow-up support for the training in schools, by way of empowerment and enabling IAP members (who are primary healthcare providers for many children), school students, their families and teachers to implement several of the key messages of SSS to achieve and sustain Digital Wellness and thereby prevent the non-communicable diseases and other serious issues associated with excessive/indiscriminate use of screen media. UPME is conceptualised and structured by Dr. Deepak Pande, (founder Vice Chairperson of Non Communicable Diseases Prevention Academy (NCDPA), and Member of Core Group of SSS), with overall guidance, support and critical inputs by Dr. Upendra S. Kinjawadekar (IAP President 2023) and Dr. Rekha Harish (founder Chairperson NCDPA, and member of Core Group of SSS).
